Somewhere to the west of what would become the Garden of Eden…
The warm hovering breath of God, like a whistling wind, swirls around the revealed form of the first Adam. It was on the sixth day of His creation of the world, after He made the animals from the dirt of the earth, that He created His chosen trophy… man, whom He distinctively created from, not the dirt, but rather from the dust of the earth.1
When the first Adam opened his eyes, they reflected the intense, deep blue of the sky above him, banded by a dark, embracing circles. He immediately started taking in what he saw and, with a brain marvelously engineered by his Creator, began rapidly to process all that crossed his senses. Pushing himself up from the ground, he stood, amazed at the strength he felt in his muscular thighs. Looking at his arms, his chest, his legs, he saw that his Creator covered his body with soft, fine brown hair, with the hair being heavier and thicker upon his head. The hair on his head was the color of… the color of… just what would he call it? Looking around he saw several reddish-brown rocks. “Yes, that’s it. My hair is the color of that rich brown stone.”2 He stooped down and as he did, his hair fell across his broad, muscular shoulders. He picked up a stone and said, “Yes, surely, this humble, but common stone with its many subtle colors is from the very throne-room of God!” He heard a sound to his right, whipped his head in that direction, and then laughed aloud as his hair slapped across his face. It surprised him so much that he repeated the action several times in delight. His laughter was deep and thunderous and brought him more joy of spirit than could be imagined. He decided that he would find occasions to laugh often. He gasped at the remarkable beauty of an open landscape where he could see for miles. “Oh, the myriad of colors,” he exclaimed, with lips suddenly speaking out in a first heard language. His own deep voice thrilled him, as he started calling everything he saw by name. He reached up and touched his face with his strong hands. Holding them before his eyes, he twisted and turned them, wiggling his fingers as he did. Then, he began to take full notice of his amazing body. “Oh, Creator, I am so fearfully and wonderfully made.3 I stand amazed at what you have done!” He blinked several times to put what he was seeing into focus. At first, it was dizzying to see so many hues of color in a landscape of buff-colored, sandy hills, dotted by so many brightly colored wildflowers. And, the sounds! The sounds all around him sang in harmony, tingling his ears. He looked up, high into the sky as if hearing even the stars sing a song of joy at his creation. The way the God explained the marvel of his creation was astounding! His ballad began with the Earth whirling through its heavenly orbit collecting dust that floats through the universe… dust from galaxies millions of light-years away and even from the nearby star, which brings great light and warmth to the Earth. Taking delight in His own statement He said, “Adam, you are made of stardust, and into that dust I breathed my very breath of life!” Adam thought, How wonderful! How extraordinary… stardust! I’m made of the very elements of the Creator’s universe. Continuing, God the Creator revealed, “Through the combination of elements I placed in you, you contain the potential to be like-minded with the Forces that project from my heart: Thought, which is at the heart of who I Am; Creation, which is relegated to the offspring of my desire; and the enlivening Power, which hovers as my Spirit over all creation. Together and completely in devoted union, I said before the Heavenly council, “Let Us make man in Our image.”4 As the Lord your God is One God, so you are one in body, mind, and spirit.” The revelation reverberated through Adam’s being as he exclaimed, “The Lord, my God is One God!5 The Creator invested all the greatness of his glory into this one creation. The very dust of His marvelous universe was part of every cell of his being… all the elements, including gold, silver, and platinum –the noble metals known to be resistant to decay. Every fiber, every sinew contained the strength of God. Man’s very teeth and his bones were made of delicate, fine crystals. Most of all, his mind was like unto the mighty Three-in-One, in that he, too, was body, mind, and soulful spirit. It would take centuries for him to learn the full potential of his creative spirit, but with God’s help, he would get there. He inherently knew that anytime he asked for wisdom, God would be right there to give it to him… abundantly!6 All his gathered knowledge and experience, contained in every cell of his being, would follow him throughout the generations to come. Then, he could sing the song of his creation with every fiber of his being!7 ... God created Adam in the desert, but in time, he was spirited away to a place the Creator fashioned just for him, His trophy of all creation. A place resplendent and dew laden, burgeoning with life forms never seen by human eye, a place where the first Adam could walk in the cool of the evening with his Creator, and where many things would be explained. |
It wasn’t enough that the Mighty Three-in-One simply spoke, and from His spoken word great and glorious heavenly bodies came hurling into existence, racing away from the very mouth of, who we reverently call, God. The ever-expanding bodies filled the great blackness of nothingness. Each heavenly body was rare and unique unto itself; each to its core was awe inspiring!
Our heavenly body, a galaxy now called the Milky Way gave birth to Earth’s life-giving sun in its dazzling spiral. Modest but vibrant in size, our sun continues to dance like a bridegroom coming out from his bedchamber as the heavenly bodies continue to sing the new song of God’s creation.8 There is not a place in the universe where His song is not heard. His music penetrates absolutely everything.9 And it is that song which holds everything, every molecule, together!10 No, this marvel was not enough. The Mighty Three-in-One craved intimacy with His creation; craved an opportunity to pass on His intellect and creative gifting. Yet, there was still so much to accomplish. From the foundation of the world, God had a plan, but He had to be quite exact in how man would come to choose, independently, to love his Creator. To set that plan in motion, God made a garden of great delight in the East where He, then, put the man. They walked and talked together in the cool of the evening. God had so much to share with his new partner in thought. Important considerations, not understood at the time, needed exploring. God gave His first man the responsibility of naming the other creatures in the Garden. Given the authority to name them, he then had the power to assert dominion over them, to care for them. Since they did not have the intellect of the Creator, they were vulnerable, and needed a good husbandman, or so was the plan. ... In the Garden, life was never-ceasing, there was only an ongoing blossoming and growing from childhood to maturity. They were eternal creatures in the Garden of life. The first man walked in step with the Creator. Since there was not darkness, no shadow of turning within the man, he radiated, fully, the light he received from the Creator.11 For everything else in the Garden there was a building up and tearing down. There was a season of life for maturing, dying and renewing. As the Creator said, “Unless a seed falls to the ground and dies, it remains alone, but if it dies, it bears much fruit.”12 They were safe in the Garden, but Adam knew that the contrasting landscape of the desert would eventually entice his children to explore what was unknown to them. They could transcend the boundaries of the Garden, as he had done when the Creator had breathed life into him in the desert and then created the beautiful Garden for him to the east where the star of the morning rose. A garden where Adam was God’s honored guest, not his prisoner. However, before then, only Adam knew that life outside the Garden would be a difficult, but a strengthening challenge. Nonetheless, some of the children transcended the boundaries of the Garden on occasion and eventually decided to stay and raise their families beyond the Garden, in a place they called Nod,13 for they became known as seasonal nomads. They developed a lifestyle which would be followed by desert wanderers the world over. They buried many domestic items, making travel light, believing they would be reunited with their possessions in another season. When the heat in the lowlands began drying up their agrarian food sources, the wanderers moved to higher, cooler terrain. When the wet monsoons came, they gradually made their way back to the lowlands in time for the spring planting. As they traveled from the mountains, the unparalleled beauty of the desert filled their hearts with awe and joy. Unlike the eternal lushness of the Garden, the desert opened its throat to drink deeply of the great flow of water released upon the earth by the ever-abundant springs. The thirsty roots and seeds underground protected the beauty of the desert until a wandering spring caused them to burst forth with an amazing array of colors that dotted the barren landscape – magenta, yellow, and hues of reds and blues. From the tiniest lavender wildflower to the goblet-stemmed trees with tangled, weathered limbs and verdant spreading crowns – all life raised their heads to praise the God of their creation. |

11 I love the story of the diamond - It's the hardest mineral of the Earth. Light, which travels 186,000 miles per second shoots into the stone. Then, that light is reflected back out of the stone showing a magnificent brilliance. If, the stone has inclusions of carbon, some of that light is absorbed. I believe Adam, who was "pure" and without dark inclusions was a brilliant companion for the Creator. That's how the Creator wanted his children to be -- full of brilliant light. Moses, born after the Fall, was an example of the "inclusions of darkness". He truly wanted to see God, but God's knew that His light, being perfectly pure, would destroy Moses. In Exodus 33:17-23 Moses says to God, "Show me your Glory." God responds that He cannot be seen by any human being. But, God tells Moses, "Stand in the cleft of the rock" and "you will see my back, but my face cannot be seen."

*Further proof that science, once again, confirms the incredible book of life, the Holy Bible, Colossians 1:15-17. “He [Jesus Christ] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created: things in Heaven and on earth, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him. He is before are things, and in Him all things hold together.” (Laminin is God’s tool)
